It Begins... Album Review

The Daily Texan did a great review on Strangeworld Underground's new album, It Begins... ! Here it is:

Strangeworld Underground

Siblings Pyro and Flamehead have been busy the past few years creating and perfecting material for their band’s full-length debut. Strangeworld Underground is getting ready to burst onto the local music scene, and all should be prepared. It Begins... will do nothing less than rock your ass straight up and down in abrasive fashion.

Beginning with survival anthem “Lord of the Flies,” the mood of the disc is set by lyrics claiming life will not be stopped, even if you must be eaten alive. When “The Forgotten” reveals itself, with bass licks that boom in an underlying fashion, a gray and foggy world is depicted as it jeers along searching for the end. Clarifying “Not So Un-Insane” strikes with honesty and harmonic beauty, the distinguishably passionate riff assisting the diluted candor of the track’s delivery.

Driving with insomniac force, “Quicksand” envelops a sleepy pressure that radiates the influences of the Deftones. Flamehead brings an infectious beat, providing exuberant energy in the chorus. Both epic and tragic in stance, “The Battle” breaks from the rigid confines of blatant oppression, telling a story of eternal fortitude. Pyro’s voice will grab and pull you into her virtual world of torment, magnificently reeling you through a seemingly everlasting state of turmoil. The strength of her decadence would bring any knee to the ground. Other songs describe issues such as a detective’s firm resolve to seek out a psychopathic madman, being buried by your own addictions, and wishing to see a loved one again so much you will throw away your own remains.

Appropriately titled, as this likely is just the start of a promising career for these talented individuals, will be available in early June and is sure to leave a permanent impression.

Strangeworld Underground's CD Release Party in Second Life -- photos soon?

The band hosted a CD Pre-release party for their new album, It Begins... , in the game Second Life on May 19th. They streamed the entire album, danced, talked about the production of the CD, and took photos/hung out with fans. One of my sources said they would get me some photos from the event, so photos coming soon!

Dear Casey and Jamie,
Thanks for all the support you've given the band all this time; we've noticed.
The official release date of the album is June 6, D-Day. Hahaha.
Pyro is working on some really exciting top secret projects that you guys will really enjoy. One of these projects will hopefully be finished early fall of this year. I can't give you a release date yet.
The band is working on more music already. They don't like to keep their fans waiting. The next album is going to have a lot of industrial/rock on it and Flamehead may be singing....his voice is changing fast. They'll just release the next album whenever they feel like it, instead of waiting 2 and three years, like most bands.
I'm sending you guys exclusive and High Quality photos as a way to show our gratitude.
As far as a tour, it'll be at least late Fall, maybe even around X-mas time. Even if the tour is so far away we hope to have some live shows posted before then.
Thanks again,
Laurel
Manager, Strangeworld Underground
