Pyro featured in Korn article

Mucho thanks to Kayla for finding this little story about Korn's new album. It has a little bit in it where they interviewed Pyro about how Korn influenced her music. Check out part 1 and part 2 to see all that she had to say.

Vocalist Jennie "Pyro" Doomsday, 18, is the lead singer in her own Austin-based rock band, Strangeworld Underground. She credits Korn with influencing her band's sound since it was established three years ago.

"Jonathan Davis's vocals are incredible, but it's the actual music that inspired our sound the most, especially the bass." Doomsday said. "Their bassist just blows my mind. In fact, their bass style heavily inspired the bass part in 'Lord of the Flies,' one of our songs."

Doomsday stressed the impressive nature of the band's stature.

"They've proven that their talent is extremely flexible, so their music will never get monotonous, and they'll always have a unique sound," she said.

And a little bit of good news for the band...

I'm happy to say that Strangeworld Underground is really starting to get out there!! More and more people know exactly who I'm talking about when I bring them up, they're all over the internet, and internet radio is playing them all over the place! They seem to be in more interviews and articles lately, and it's become SUPER easy to track them on the net, find pics, etc...since more people are being exposed to them, so GO THEM! Everyone I know who has heard their album, including writers who have reviewed it, say it's awesome and they're gonna be huge! So thanks to everyone to has helped me run this site by sending in news and photos, because Pyro herself has thanked me a number of time for helping them be successful! SPECIAL thanks to the almighty JEN (world famous fan site webmaster and good friend of mine!!!) for helping me out so much and just for taking an interest in my favorite band :-) She has helped me promote and even maintain this site, and I owe her big time for it! <3 <3 <3

The Art of Pyro fan site on Blogger.com has now been up and running since January 2006! So thank you so much to: all of the SU fans who have visited - Jen, Jamie, Manda, and anyone else who has helped me maintain it - Jacob Payne for supporting SU as much as me! - and of course, Jennie "Pyro" Doomsday and Johnny "Flamehead" Doomsday, who make up the band!

I'm really happy that I've been able to speak personally with the members of the band, (and even interviewed Pyro!) and we've all been really lucky to get to know them and be the first to support them before they get hugely famous.

I hope I can keep helping to fuel their success!
