Here is a small article I wrote for Jacob Payne's band, Dark World Sunshine, which Pyro is a part of: ---------------------- Dark World Sunshine: From The Mind of Jacob Payne By Casey Johnson, Independent Journalist Jacob Payne (22), a talented poet and journalist from Austin, Texas, wrote every lyric for Dark World Sunshine's first album, 'Personal Concepts of Survival'. Payne suffers from a progressive muscular disorder, and is unable to speak or move much of his body except for his right hand, which he uses to write on a notebook as his way of communication. As a disabled person, he must spend every waking moment in a motorized chair. Jacob Payne still manages to accomplish his goals and take part in the hobbies he loves, including crowd surfing at huge rock shows such as Ozzfest and hanging out with his favorite bands like Korn. He is also a part time college student at UT (University of Texas) and though he is disabled, he still attends all his classes on campus. He has also written nearly twenty articles for his local newspaper, The Daily Texan, and he is quite a talented writer. His new way of speaking his mind is in the form of his new band, Dark World Sunshine. DWS is made up of Payne and other artists and personal friends who were happy to write music for his words. Artists include Alex Dupree (of Alex Dupree and the Trapdoor band), Red Hunter (of Peter and the Wolf), Pyro (of Doomsday Machine), J Muzacz, and Konrad Wert (of Possessed by Paul James). Pyro Doomsday, a well known independent rock artist, was proud to be part of the project, although the folk music style provided by Alex Dupree and Konrad Wert was not the kind of music she listens to. "Jacob is an amazing person, and this project was a great idea," says Pyro, "And I noticed that even though I don't really like folk music, when I listened to the finished CD I thought, 'Wow this is really good!' I got to work with a bunch of great people, and I was able to get out there and do something I've never done before. It was a wonderful project and I am honored that Jacob wanted me to take part in it. Working with him is so inspiring. He is one of my heroes and his persistance and courage should be shown to the world." The remarkable Jacob Payne is a hero to anyone who feels like something holds them back from accomplishing their dreams. We look forward to seeing his future projects; he is an inspiration. ---------------------- Hope you enjoy it!

Okay, so I finally got the audio clip of one of the songs Pyro performed with Dark World Sunshine, the side project she was doing. It's called "Away to the Moon" and it's a real pretty song. It is really folky...so I see why Pyro said it's not her kind of music. But she sings beautifully. I do wish that guy would stop singing over her! The song is a duet and she doesn't have quite as many parts as the other person. But it's still good for a live clip. Part of the audience made tons of noise with random junk, so you'll just have to ignore it hahaha. Hopefully I will find pics from the gig, but I can't promise anything. Click to hear the live clip of "Away to the Moon" by Dark World Sunshine Some New Random Pics I have two new pics of Pyro. None from the DWS gig, sorry. Here is one, I don't know where it's from: And here is one a fan sent in. She saw Pyro at a restaurant and here's a pic of the two of them: Saturday, August 19, 2006
I still don't have pictures from the DWS show (Pyro's side project). But I have found someone who has an audio clip of one song from the live performance! :) However, they said the audience made horrible noise the whole time, beating on things along to the song. I just hope we can hear Pyro's voice. But at least it's something. This is what they said in the email about DWS: Pyro was right when she said the music is kind of folky. Hahaha. Even though she says it's not her style, I think it's pretty. She has a great performance voice. I will post the audio clip when I get it. Til then, I'll keep you all posted on news and updates! For those of you who didn't know, Pyro has a side project she's been working on. Here is what she said about the project: Pyro: "It's not really rock music. It's kind of a folky style I'm experimenting with. It's not something I would normally do....but I'm working with some great people." The project is a seperate band called Dark World Sunshine. All of the lyrics were written by Jacob Payne, a friend of Pyro's. They have a gig coming up on August 17. All of the following info is from MySpace.com. For those of you in the dark, allow me to brighten your path, give you hope, and maybe even a little inspiration. My friends and family, over the past 9 months, I have been writing material and working with folk artist Alex Dupree on an album. In late May, we were joined by our mutual friend and percussionist J Muzacz and we set to recording. More friends joined later as well: guest vocalists include the exuberant Red Hunter, the lovely and mystical Pyro Doomsday, and the passionately energetic Konrad Wert, as well as the two guest percussionists John Hoover and Flamehead Doomsday. Together, we have formed a band and created a collection of songs. Our band name is Dark World Sunshine, and our slogan is survival. This is your invitation to come to our CD Release Party. The show will be our first officially, and unfortunately our last for a while, as Alex will be leaving shortly to tour the U.S. for a few months. So mark your calendars for August 17th and try to make it out. It will be at Alex's Coop. Thank you all and we hope to see you soon. - Jacob Payne Band Members: Jacob Payne (songwriter), Alex Dupree (main vocalist/guitarist), J Muzacz (main percussionist), Red Hunter (guest vocalist/guitarist), Pyro Doomsday (guest vocalist/keyboardist), Konrad Wert (guest vocalist/violinist), Flamehead Doomsday (guest percussionist), John Hoover (guest percussionist) I'm not sure if we'll have pictures from the event or not, but hopefully I will find some! Here is the last picture I found of Pyro as a baby. Look at her eyes! Enjoy. Remember: Please do not remove my tags, or put this picture on your website without giving this website credit. Thanks! Tuesday, August 08, 2006
YAY! I was so excited about this update. From a reliable source who knew them personally and would like to remain annonymous (they didn't give us their name), I have recieved completely exclusive photos of Pyro and FlameHead at very young ages! I am certain that our source is reliable, because I am positive these are pictures of Pyro and FlameHead. It is definitely them. AND THEY ARE ADORABLE! They are so cute together and they seem to be really good friends. I wish I was like that with my brother. Heh! In the first and second photos, we think Pyro was 9, and according to our source, FlameHead was 3. In the third photo, Pyro was only 2! And in the last one, FlameHead was just 2 years old as well! Aww they are so cute....ENJOY! :) *All photos are in the Rare and Exclusive section of the Gallery. More info on ages: We've heard endless rumors about how old they are, but we are almost sure FlameHead is 13 now. He's definitely not any older than 14, which has been confirmed. Pyro on the other hand, is rumored to be from 19 to 22! So it's hard to say what is accurate. However, a reliable source has confirmed that FlameHead was 3 years old in the first picture.
